Taymaz Pour Mohammad

Taymaz Pour Mohammad holds a B.A. in Law from Allameh Tabataba’i University (Tehran, Iran) and an M.A. in Liberal Studies from The New School for Social Research (NYC, USA). He is currently a PhD candidate in Comparative Literary Studies at Northwestern University, where he is writing his dissertation on the use of pleasure in English translations of the fourteenth-century Persian poet Hafez. His research interests include British and French orientalism, world literature, postcolonial translation theory, decolonial critical theory, and Persian poetry and poetics. He was a fellow at the Paris Program in Critical Theory Program in 2019-2020 and is the Persian instructor at Northwestern University during 2020-2021.
