Promoting Care and Equity in the Language Classroom was the topic of dynamic faculty workshop.

Professor Maha Bali led a dynamic and interactive virtual workshop for instructors on the topic of promoting care and equity into language teaching. Professor Bali discussed strategies, exercises, and research on how educators can promote equity when they design and facilitate their courses, and the virtual workshop was attended by many professors from across the nation. The workshop was sponsored by the Buffett Institute for Global Affairs Language Curricula and Gender Equality Working Group, and it was moderated by several MENA Languages faculty who serve on the Working Group, including Professor Ragy Mikhaeel who introduced Professor Bali.
Professor Bali is Professor of Practice at the Center for Learning at the American University in Cairo. She writes, speaks, and blogs frequently about social justice, critical pedagogy, and open and online education.
