Progressive learning environments

The MENA Languages program recognizes that their students are diverse learners from racially, ethnically, culturally, and linguistically diverse families and communities. In order to meet their needs, instructors provide an array of different learning tools and scenarios including opportunities to use the target language with native speakers from the target culture to help accelerate learning.

The faculty continues to research what makes language learning most effective for their students. One important component is the use of new technologies to provide up-to-date learning situations, be it integrated CANVAS sites, textbook choices with digital components and companion learning sites, and web components to practice the language independent of being registered for a class.  Some of the projects are described below.
