Professor Seltzer wins CLI Teaching Award

Dr. Seltzer has been awarded the Council on Language Instruction's 2023-24 Excellence in Language Teaching Award. Dr. Seltzer is a deeply caring and passionate instructor. Her philosophical approach, treating all students with fairness, respect, dignity, and generosity, and fully including them in the teaching and learning process, guides Dr. Seltzer’s teaching every day. Dr. Seltzer creates “a warm and safe community” for her students. One student summed it up this way: “I loved the class structure. Every morning for about 10 minutes we would talk about our weekend/day in Hebrew and then spend the rest of class learning with our peers.” Another student said: “The class was incredibly community oriented, and I heavily enjoyed getting to work with my peers in most everything we did in class.” And finally: “The class is such a warm and safe community, can't say enough good things!! She puts a lot of effort into making sure students all feel supported and have a firm grasp on topics.”
