Gamified activities for a new Arabic textbook
Dr. Raddawi received a Baker Faculty Award for her project to enhance language learning through gamification.
Congratulations.
Dr. Raddawi is designing interactive and immersive gamified activities to complement her new Arabic textbook which she is developing with a colleague from Columbia University.
Some of the goals are:
- Leverage Technology to Support Diverse Learners: Integrate digital tools such as online quizzes, multimedia resources, and interactive exercises to cater to varied learning styles and improve accessibility for all students.
- Foster Collaboration through Student Engagement: Involve student collaborators who bring fresh perspectives and valuable linguistic expertise.
The 2025 Baker Faculty Research Program is part of Weinberg College's Baker Program in Undergraduate Research. Faculty members awarded the grant will have the opportunity to select a team of two WCAS undergraduate students whom the College will support with Baker funds. The expectation is that the students will work a full-time 40-hour work week on their project for eight weeks during the summer term. The grant provides students with the valuable opportunity to work with a research team in a collaborative environment.
